Hi, I’m Sepideh Alvandi! I’m originally from Iran, a beautiful country in the Middle East where Persian (Farsi) is the official language. Our language is rich in poetry and idioms, and we have a deep love for words. In fact, in our culture, we believe names have a special power and influence on a person’s life. My parents chose the name “Sepideh,” which means “dawn”, the moment when light defeats darkness and the sun overcomes the night. They hoped I would be someone full of light and love, and I try my best every day to live up to that hope!

Medically speaking, I’m an International Medical Graduate (MD-LMCC), and I graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) in 2017, one of the top medical schools in Iran. After completing my service in the Baluchistan region, located on the border between Iran and Pakistan, I spent four years practicing as an Aesthetic Medical Doctor in Tehran. I worked in several clinics, specializing in non-invasive treatments like Botox, dermal fillers, mesotherapy, and microneedling, as well as more advanced procedures such as facial fat grafting, liposuction, and buccal fat removal.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also served as an Emergency Physician in multiple hospitals in Tehran, helping out during an incredibly challenging time. In 2021, I relocated to Canada and joined the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Response Team. I was lucky enough to support communities across the country during natural disasters, humanitarian missions and the vaccine rollout. Since moving to Canada, I’ve completed the Canadian Medical Licensing exams and earned my Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada. I’m currently seeking a residency position to continue my medical education and training.

Outside of medicine, I’m a Persian poet, and my poems have been published in prominent newspapers and magazines in Iran. I’ve also won both national and international awards for my work. In my free time, I love cooking, baking, and hosting friends and family to celebrate life together. Fun fact: I’m also really organized, so if I weren’t a doctor, I’d probably be planning events and parties (maybe even weddings!) :lol
